Slump? What slump? Bryce Harper hits 13th inning walk-off against Mets
Perhaps for the first time in his life, Bryce Harper has been struggling at the plate. Coming into Thursday's game, the 21-year-old phenom was hitting just .218/.325/.307 since returning from a thumb injury on June 30th.
The slump even lead reporters to ask manager Matt Williams if there was a demotion coming. Needless to say, Williams wasn't having it:
Harper then went out and backed up his skipper with this 13th inning walk-off blast off Mets pitcher Carlos Torres:
Needless to say, the Nats were pretty pleased. Harper even took an inadvertent Ice Bucket Challange after rounding the bases, too:
