Odubel Herrera takes first base on a strikeout, proves you should never give up
Herrera takes first base on strikeout
When Odubel Herrera came up to bat in the top of the ninth inning of Friday's Phillies-Braves game, Atlanta was up 2-1, but there were runners on first and second. Sure, there were already two outs, but even when he fell behind in the count almost immediately, he refused to lose hope.
Then, Braves reliever Arodys Vizcaino struck him out. But if movies have taught us anything, it's that it's not over 'til it's over. The strike bounced in the dirt and sailed into the stands, leaving Herrera free to take first base.
… Well, until you have to. The next batter, Darin Ruf, lined out to second base and the Braves won the game.
