King of Pop, King of Rock and King Arthur gather to honor King Felix

Kings gather at the throne of King Felix

Friday night just may have been the most kingly evening of 2014.

We all know about the L.A. Kings' dramatic double-overtime win against the New York Rangers, but that merely scratches the surface of all the royal happenings of the night.

Further up the West Coast, in beautiful Seattle, King Felix was on the mound for the Mariners. Such affairs tend to bring out the best and brightest of the Pacific Northwest, but on this particular evening, Hernandez had even more noble guests:

Yes, the kings of Pop, Rock and the Round Table all made appearances in the King's Court at Safeco Field in order to pay tribute to the reigning King of Seattle.

It was a night worth marking, as Hernandez allowed just one run on four hits, striking out six in 8 1/3 innings of work. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be enough as the Mariners lost 1-0 to the visiting Rangers.

But hey, the occasion gave us a meeting of Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and King Arthur. That's a decent consolation prize.
