Nick Tropeano throws a pitch, does a quick audition for the US gymnastics team
The Summer Olympics start in August, which means all the national teams are probably locked down at this point. But that didn't stop Angels pitcher Nick Tropeano from going after his gold medal dreams.
During the top of the fourth inning of Wednesday's Dodgers-Angels game, Tropeano was pitching to Justin Turner when he decided it was as good a time as any to show the world he deserves to be on the US Men's Gymnastics Team:
Come on, Olympic committee! Surely you saw this. (Sorry Nick, everyone saw this.)
But don't feel too sad for our friend up there if he doesn't go to Rio in August -- though he may have walked Turner in that at-bat, he still came away with the win, pitching seven innings and allowing just one run in the Angels' 8-1 victory.
