Braves fan claims lunch with Tom Glavine, gets pizza with a side of snark in the stands
Braves fan scores free pizza for his section
During Monday's Braves-Pirates matchup, one intrepid Braves fan got wind of a mystery giveaway at Turner Field and brought with him a homemade sign politely requesting lunch with Braves HOFer Tom Glavine. The recent Cooperstown inductee didn't make the trek to the stands (though we're hoping an exhaustive alternate reality exists where Glavine has to appear every time a Braves fan "claims" lunch with him) but the fan's craftiness earned pizza and leftover Chick-fil-A for himself and the fans around him.
Even better: While serving up slices, reporter-turned-pizza-delivery-man Tom Hart got served himself. Hart asked Braves fan Mary about being a good luck charm for the team -- they're allegedly 6-0 when she's in the stands -- but she misheard Hart and seemed rather confused about his line of questioning.
After clearing things up, Mary was still skeptical: "I'm not quite sure about you," she told him. That's a burn, Tom.
Mary's streak came to an end last night as the Braves fell to the Pirates 1-0, but at least everyone -- even Hart -- got their fill. And don't worry, Hart's got no hard feelings:
