Vin Scully surprised Dodgers fans at NLCS Game 5 with his classic catchphrase
Before the Dodgers took on the Cubs in Game 5 of the NLCS on Thursday, Dodgers legends Steve Garvey and Eric Karros came out on the field to get the game started in style. Naturally, everyone expected the two to say a few nice words and start the ballgame with that familiar phrase: "It's time for Dodger baseball!"
With the game representing perhaps the final home game of the year for the Dodgers should they fail to reach the World Series, there was one very special guest on hand, though: Vin Scully.
After Garvey told the fans that they were the "wind beneath" the Dodgers' wings -- echoing Scully's favorite song -- he and Karros threw it to Scully in a suite. In his familiar tenor, Scully belted out "It's time for Dodger baseball" and the crowd went nuts.
There was another Dodgers legend hanging out with Scully, too. Don Newcombe, who pitched in Scully's very first Dodgers broadcast.

That's a lot off history in one press box.
