Astros Minor League catcher makes diving catch at the plate to turn a double play

Astros MiLB catcher makes diving catch, turns DP

Double plays are always fun -- second only to triple plays, they're a sure-fire way to amp up a defense and the crowd. But they're exceptionally fun when the catcher starts it with a diving catch at the plate:

As the Astros and Rangers are in the midst of an intense battle for first place in the AL West (with the most recent head-to-head series going to Texas), their Triple-A affiliates are facing off for the Pacific League Championship title. The Round Rock Express took on the Fresno Grizzlies Friday night in Game 3 of the best-of-five series, and during the fourth inning, Grizzlies catcher Tyler Heineman pulled off one of the slickest moves you'll see from a catcher.

The Express still took the game, 6-2, and lead the series 2-1, which makes Saturday's game do-or-die for the Grizzlies. Maybe Heineman will pull out all the stops and turn a diving-throwing-while-sitting triple play.
