Watch Mark Teixeira and CC Sabathia perform a scene from 'August: Osage County'

If you've always wanted to see the Yankees first baseman take on a role that earned Meryl Streep an Oscar nomination, you're in luck. In an appearance on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" on Wednesday, Teixeira played the part of Violet Weston, while CC Sabathia played Ivy Weston, in a brief dramatic excerpt from Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning play and movie.

Why, you may ask? (As if a reason is necessary?) Fallon brought the Yankees on to do some Broadway theatre in honor of "Bronx Bombers," a Yankees-themed play that recently opened in New York. This also isn't Teixeira's first experience with Broadway -- he appeared onstage in a performance of "Rock of Ages" last year.
