Happy 55th to Julio Franco, who might still be playing baseball somewhere

23 seasons, seven teams, 2,586 hits, a .298 batting average ... and that's just in the Major Leagues. Julio Franco also spent time playing in Korea, Japan and the Mexican League (where he hit .423 in 1999).

The three-time All-Star clearly loved the game -- playing six different positions in four different countries until the age of 48. In 2004, he became the oldest regularly-playing position player ever. He's also the oldest to hit two home runs in a game, steal two bases in one contest and deliver a grand slam (as shown in the above video). He was 46 and pinch-hitting. Aging, what?

So, Happy Birthday to Julio on this fine Friday. We hope to see you at Spring Training 2014.
