We personalized cleats for 5 MLB stars, and we hope to see them on the field in 2019

When Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association recently relaxed the rules regarding footwear for players in 2019, specifically allowing for more personalization as a means of expressing their individuality, it sparked a thought: Which players would inevitably take the most creative liberty with their shoes next season, allowing their personalities to shine through via colorful or elaborate cleats?
Well, we couldn't wait until next season to find out, so we designed our own versions for five stars in particular. Dream with us below.
Mookie Betts
In addition to being incredibly good at everything he does on the baseball diamond, newly appointed American League MVP Mookie Betts also runs laps around everybody else at the bowling alley. Betts, who could definitely be a professional bowler after he retires from baseball, is the perfect cross-sport ambassador for these two athletic events.
As such, he should take his place in the Boston outfield in 2019 with these bad boys:

Mike Trout
Much as Betts would probably be a professional bowler in another life (or just later in this life), the same can be said for Mike Trout and his passion for the meteorological arts. The Angels star takes intense interest in the weather -- he was even given his own weather balloon by a Weather Channel personality and read a mini-weather report on the air during the All-Star Game -- so, naturally, he'd look pretty perfect in these:

Yasiel Puig
The Dodgers' Yasiel Puig has done a lot to make a name for himself in recent years, but perhaps his most notable moment came during the 2017 postseason, when he did ... this

For Puig's imaginary (but highly encouraged) new personalized cleats, then, how about a tongue-shaped tongue? Yes, you read that correctly.

Max Scherzer
In addition to being one of the most dominant pitchers of his era, perennial Cy Young candidate Max Scherzer is also known for one signature characteristic: His heterochromia, resulting in two different eye colors:

And in cleat form, of course:

Jose Ramirez
When the Indians acquired lefty reliever Brad Hand from San Diego last summer, his new teammate Jose Ramirez had some important questions to ask him ... most notably, "Do you play Mario Kart?"
It's no secret the Cleveland star enjoys the classic video game (as do most baseball clubhouses, really) -- so he'd look like a star running out there with these cleats next year:

We're excited to see what players come up with for next season!
