Who are we to say Odubel Herrera's RBI double didn't deserve an emphatic bat flip?

Down to the Nationals, 3-1, with no outs and a runner on second base in the sixth inning on Sunday, Odubel Herrera rocketed the first pitch he saw to deep left field. As soon as the ball left his bat, he knew he'd gotten an excellent piece of it. So, he flipped his bat like this:

In the taxonomy of bat flips, that's a classic "I just sent this ball outta here" -- only, Herrera's hit didn't exactly leave the ballpark. It fell just shy of the wall, and Herrera had to stop at second with a double.

Still, he drove in one run and eventually came around to score on Freddy Galvis' single, so maybe Herrera was just pre-flipping to celebrate tying the game. Why should we limit the scope of bat flip-worthy hits to solely home runs?
Alas, after tying the game and then taking a one-run lead in the ninth, Jayson Werth hit a two-run single in the bottom of the frame to give the Nationals a 5-4 walk-off win. Bat flip when you can, gentlemen.
