Willy Adames missed his first flight following his promotion and landed 35 minutes prior to game time

The Rays called up their No. 2 prospect, Willy Adames, on Tuesday -- and he had a phenomenal outing. He homered to left in his second at-bat against Chris Sale, becoming just the fifth Rays player to homer in his Major League debut -- so he certainly made a quick impression on the team.
Still, it was before the game, when he found out about his promotion, where some drama ensued -- he almost didn't make it to his start. Following the Rays' 4-2 loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday night, Adames told the media he didn't have much time to get on his flight.
"They told me at 1:20 that I had a flight at 2:50, so I missed the first flight," Adames said. "I took the other [flight] at 3:30, and it was pretty crazy -- I got here late, too."
Adames arrived about 30 minutes before game time.
All drama aside, he made it to the game, and made his presence known.

The Rays will face David Price on Wednesday. Adames was part of a three-team trade in 2014 that included Price and the 22-year-old has been wanting to face the veteran pitcher since the beginning.
A very eventful first week for Adames.
