World Cup champion Bastian Schweinsteiger threw a successful first pitch at Wrigley Field

Prior to Tuesday night's 8-3 Cubs win over the Phillies, Chicago Fire midfielder and 2014 World Cup champion Bastian Schweinsteiger threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Outside of Frank Underwood's preparation for his presidential first pitch in House of Cards, we usually don't see the preparation involved in throwing out a first pitch, but Schweinsteiger let us in on his practice.

As an athlete rarely tasked with throwing a ball, practice is key to a successful first pitch, and Schweinsteiger showed that practice indeed makes better. His practice throw was a bit off the theoretical plate. When he hit the Wrigley Field mound, his eephus went high, but appeared to be right over the plate.

A second career as a pitcher probably isn't in the offing for the German soccer legend, but fortunately he seems to be doing fine on his chosen path.
