Yankees broadcaster Suzyn Waldman is terrified by Rays gong

On Thursday night, with the Yankees playing in St. Petersburg, Suzyn Waldman received quite a scare when a giant gong was struck, forcing Waldman and her booth partner John Sterling to jump with shock.

Sadly, it's unlikely that this was a spectral gong that was rung, there being no drum-happy vengeful spirit in Tropicana Field's 16-year-old rafters.

It is, however, far more likely that this man was the culprit, born out of Joe Maddon's love for the wonderful T-Rex classic, "Bang a Gong (Get It On)"

Fortunately for Waldman, the gongs didn't seem to have much of an effect on the Yankees. They would go on to win 10-2, turning a triple play along the way.
