PHOENIX -- Outfielders A.J. Pollock and Chris Owings were both out of the lineup on Friday after colliding with each other on the warning track during Thursday night's game.
Owings, who was removed from the game after taking a knee to the head from Pollock, as well as hitting the back of his head on the ground, passed his postgame concussion test and did so again on Friday morning.
Owings was able to take batting practice and was available off the bench if needed.
"Got some sleep last night and felt pretty good," he said. "I think they just kind of wanted to give me a day."
Pollock injured his right hand on the collision according to manager Torey Lovullo, who added that it was not serious, but that Pollock was due for an off-day anyway.
"You know how I feel about getting certain guys rest," Lovullo said. "He was going to try and play. He banged up his hand in that collision. I decided to remove him from the lineup for precautionary reasons, and like I said, I was searching for a day for him to have off and it made a lot of sense."

Lovullo said Pollock would also be available off the bench if needed.
David Peralta shifted from left to right to take Owings place, while Jarrod Dyson got the start in center for Pollock, with Daniel Descalso getting his first start of the year in left.
Delgado examined
Reliever Randall Delgado, who has been on the disabled list since Spring Training, was set to undergo an examination on Friday night.
Delgado missed the second half of last season with elbow issues and received a platelet rich plasma injection in September to try and help the healing process.
Delgado reported to Spring Training saying his elbow felt good. He wound up straining his left oblique muscle during March and opened the year on the disabled list.
While pitching recently on a rehab assignment, the D-backs noticed that the velocity of his fastball had dipped.
"He feels good," Lovullo said. "We just obviously have noticed that the velocity is down. We want to just make sure."
