D-backs designate Lars Anderson for assignment

The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) announced they have designated infielder Lars Anderson for assignment. The announcement was made by D-backs Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Anderson, 25, combined to hit .250 (99-for-396) with 27 doubles, 9 home runs and 59 RBI in 111 games with Triple-A Pawtucket (Red Sox) and Triple-A Columbus (Indians) in 2012. He also appeared in 6 games with Boston, going 1-for-8 (.125).

Anderson was acquired from Cleveland as part of a 3-team trade with Cincinnati on Dec. 10, 2012.

The D-backs' 40-man roster is now at 40.
