D-backs extend player development contract with Class A Short Season Hillsboro

The Arizona Diamondbacks have extended their player development contract with Single-A Short-Season Hillsboro (@HillsboroHops) of the Northwest League for 2 years through the 2020 season.

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks have extended their player development contract with Single-A Short-Season Hillsboro (@HillsboroHops) of the Northwest League for 2 years through the 2020 season. u5:p

"Mike and Laura McMurray along with KL Wombacher have built an amazing franchise that we are proud to be a part of. Hillsboro is the first stop of many of our young players along their journey and they are treated like Major League players in Hillsboro every day by the Hops staff and community." u5:p
A D-backs affiliate since Hillsboro's inception in 2013, the Hops have won a pair of Northwest League titles (2014-15), made 4 consecutive playoff appearances (2014-current) and 40+ win seasons, and a 227-179 (.559) regular season record. Six of Arizona's last 8 first-round and competitive balance draft selections, including 2018's 39th overall pick Jake McCarthy, have played for the Hops.u5:p
