D-backs reinstate Miller from 60-day DL, place Walker on 60-day DL

The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated RHP Shelby Miller (@ShelbyMiller19) from the 60-day disabled list (right elbow inflammation) and placed INF/OF Christian Walker on the 60-day disabled list (facial fracture). The D-backs now have 36 players on their active roster and the 40-man remains at 40.

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated RHP Shelby Miller (@ShelbyMiller19) from the 60-day disabled list (right elbow inflammation) and placed INF/OF Christian Walker on the 60-day disabled list (facial fracture). The D-backs now have 36 players on their active roster and the 40-man remains at 40.
 
Miller, 27, was placed on the disabled list on July 12. He returned from Tommy John surgery on June 25 @ Miami Marlins, his first Major League outing since April 23, 2017 vs. Dodgers, and made 4 starts (0-4, 11.40 ERA). He made 4 rehabilitation starts between Single-A Advanced Visalia and Double-A Jackson from May 29-June 10, going 1-0 with a 4.66 ERA (10 ER in 19.1 IP), 28 strikeouts and 6 walks.
 
The 2015 National League All-Star has played in 130 career games (124 starts) over parts of 7 Major League seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals (2012-14), Atlanta Braves ('15) and D-backs (2016-present), going 37-53 with a 3.84 ERA (304 ER in 713.1 IP), .249 opponent average and 592 strikeouts. 
 
Walker, 27, suffered a facial fracture on September 24 when he was hit by a pitch by the Los Angeles Dodgers' Kenta Maeda in the eighth inning. In 37 games for the D-backs this season, he hit .163 (8-for-49) with 2 doubles, 3 homers, 6 RBI and 3 walks. In 84 games at Triple-A Reno, he hit .299 with 25 doubles, 4 triples, 18 home runs, 71 RBI and 26 walks.
