De La Rosa placed on DL; Barrett recalled

PHOENIX -- The D-backs placed left-hander on the 10-day disabled list Saturday with right Achilles bursitis, which he sustained while pitching Friday night.
De La Rosa had an MRI on Saturday and the injury apparently will not sideline him for long.
"It's not going to affect his arm, so we're hoping he can continue to keep his arm in shape through this and give him the 10 days down," said manager Torey Lovullo. "It made a lot of sense to us."
was called up from Triple-A Reno to take De La Rosa's spot. This is Barrett's second stint with the D-backs this year. He made one appearance for Arizona on May 11 when he tossed a scoreless inning against the Nationals.
With Reno, Barrett was 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA in 17 games.
"Jake has been throwing the ball extremely well," Lovullo said. "Some tough decisions down there because there are a lot of guys who are throwing the ball well. That's the spirit of competition. That's the kind of depth we have in this system. We just felt like Jake has been throwing the ball very, very well so we wanted to give him this opportunity."
