Double-A Amarillo’s 23-year-old right-hander shut down San Antonio with seven no-hit innings, facing just one batter over the minimum, to power the Sod Poodles to a 4-0 win in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader in the friendly confines at HODGETOWN. The D-backs' No. 9 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, paired six strikeouts with one walk in a dominant performance.

Frías’ afternoon marked the Sod Poodles’ second seven-inning no-hit performance of the season (following a similar gem by Arizona's No. 21 prospect Matt Tabor on July 11), and it was also the first hitless outing recorded at HODGETOWN.

Frías is known for a big fastball that can touch 99 mph and can sit in the mid- to upper 90s in the later innings, giving him potential for big performances like Sunday's. It marked a complete turnaround from Frías’ last start a week prior, when he allowed six runs on eight hits across six innings.
