Injury updates: Pollock, Souza, Delgado, Ray

June 19th, 2018

ANAHEIM -- D-backs outfielders Steven Souza Jr. and A.J. Pollock had follow-up tests Monday as they try to work their way back from injuries.
Pollock, who has an avulsion fracture of his left thumb, had a CT scan that revealed continued healing in the area, but not enough to be cleared for baseball activities.
Souza, who is out with a strained right pectoral, had an MRI that showed less swelling, but not enough for him to be cleared to participate in game-like throwing. This past week he began playing catch, but he is not at the point where he can fully let loose.
Reliever , who has been out with a variety of injuries since Spring Training, was scheduled to throw an inning for Triple-A Reno on Monday night.
Robbie Ray, who has a strained right oblique, is scheduled to throw 65 pitches for Reno on Tuesday night.
Allow me to introduce myself
Setup man has made the most of his opportunities to meet people within the game of baseball. He's taken pictures with legendary broadcasters like Vin Scully and Bob Uecker and makes it a point to meet opposing players.
On Monday when he went out into the hallway outside the D-backs' clubhouse to do an interview, he saw Angels pitcher/DH talking with Arizona reliever , who signed a two-year deal with the D-backs out of Japan in December.
"Yoshi was over there talking to him," Bradley said. "I wanted to say hi and introduce myself. What he's been doing has been incredible. Getting to watch him throw 100 mph and hit homers, it's pretty impressive."
Ohtani is currently on the 10-day disabled list.
