Arizona Diamondbacks announce exciting three-series homestand to include postgame fireworks, popular fan giveaway, Native American Recognition day and patriotic tribute on Memorial Day

Beginning Monday, D-backs host Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers over Memorial Day Weekend and 2021 World Series champion Atlanta Braves on Memorial Day

May 21st, 2022

The Arizona Diamondbacks, coming off an 8-game road trip, will kick off their fourth homestand Monday when they take on the Kansas City Royals for a 2-game series beginning at 6:40 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, their first visit to Chase Field since 2014 and fourth all-time (2005, ’08 and ’14).

The D-backs will help fans get a head start on Memorial Day Weekend when they welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers for a 4-game series starting Thursday. During that series, on Friday, May 27, the D-backs will put on what may be one of the last postgame fireworks shows of the season due to new roof mandates. Additional weekend plans include:

• Surprise Mascot First Pitch on Saturday
• Native American Recognition Day on Sunday
• Kids Run the Bases on Sunday

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, the D-backs will host the 2021 World Series Champion Atlanta Braves over a 3-game series that will kick off with a patriotic tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. The D-backs have planned one of their most popular giveaway items this season for this day: a popular reversible bucket hat with military camouflage on one side that pays homage to our armed service members for the first 10,000 fans. Additionally, Chase Field is honored to host popular Zac Brown Band vocalist, John Driskell Hopkins, who will sing the National Anthem on Memorial Day.

“I am pleased that our final May games will be played at home, over Memorial Day Weekend, providing us the opportunity to pay tribute to and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our treasured freedom. For those of you who have served or lost a loved one while in service to our country, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your sacrifices and selfless service,” said D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall. “It will be an honor for all of us throughout the D-backs franchise to commemorate these families this year on this important day.”
