April 23rd, 2023

Arizona Diamondbacks President, CEO & General Partner Derrick Hall presented a donation for $187,820 to Make-A-Wish during tonight’s game on behalf of the D-backs and Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation.

Make-A-Wish Arizona President & CEO Fran Mallace, who accepted the contribution on behalf of the organization, said: “We’re so pleased with the D-backs long-standing commitment to the community and our Wish Kids. This donation will allow us to move towards our goal of granting the most wishes ever in Arizona in 2023 - wishes for children like Ayden, who hopes to one day be an Arizona Diamondbacks player.”

World Wish Day is celebrated every year on April 29, the anniversary of the wish that inspired the founding of Make-A-Wish. The organization began its mission of granting wishes to children with critical illnesses in Phoenix in 1980. Since then, more than 550,000 wishes have been granted worldwide and 7,500 in Arizona. Hall serves as National Chairman of the Board for Make-A-Wish and is proud of the special wishes granted at Chase Field.
