LOS ANGELES -- On Sunday alone, went back on the disabled list, came off the disabled list to pitch one inning in an 11-3 loss to the Pirates and finished the day with a brace on his sprained left wrist, and 's Dodgers debut was pushed back for the umpteenth time by lingering finger blisters.
Just another day for the Dodgers' pitching staff, which saw reliever placed on the 15-day disabled list with right triceps inflammation.
McCarthy, as expected, went on the DL with a stiff right hip, not to mention the overriding issue of sudden and inexplicable wildness.
Ravin was replaced in the bullpen by the recall of , who was pressed into emergency long-relief action by the second inning on Sunday and responded with three scoreless innings. A spot on the 40-man roster for Anderson was created by designating for assignment outfielder .

Manager Dave Roberts didn't say that McCarthy had any tests taken on the hip, but added that he only had "minimal concern" that McCarthy will find his pitch command.
"Where he's at physically, he needs time to get right," said Roberts. "Not to start for two weeks, get back in September and work mechanically, he'll be better for it. Once he gets physically right, it'll all fall into place. Brandon's a veteran player and he's gone through some trials."

Roberts was asked if he was sure McCarthy's issues are physical and not mental.
"I think it is physical," he said. "As far as the mental part, that's each individual and how they handle it. I can't speak for that."
Roberts also announced that , who passed a rehab start test Saturday night, is healed from a back strain and will start for the Dodgers on Thursday in Philadelphia. and start Tuesday and Wednesday.
The news, however, continued to be puzzling for Hill, who the previous day said he would make a rehab start on Monday for Oklahoma City. That won't happen. Instead, Hill threw a bullpen session Sunday and the club is considering sending him to its Arizona training complex to pitch to hitters Wednesday or Thursday night. That means he won't be pitching for the Dodgers until after next week, and probably after a rehab start or two because he hasn't pitched in a game since July 7.
Without Hill, and with Anderson uncertain, Roberts might be giving another start. Or not.
The Dodgers haven't really had a "rotation" since mid-June, the last time they started the same five pitchers in order for 10 games. Those starters were , Kazmir, Urias, and Maeda. Roberts said he still expects Kershaw back sometime in September.
