Dodgers progressing on deal for top pick Seager

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers announced the signing of Cuban outfielder Yasiel Puig on Friday, and it appears the team will soon announce another major signing: first-round Draft choice Corey Seager.

"Logan and his group are working on that level, too, and hopefully in the next few days, we can have a resolution on that in a good way," general manager Ned Colletti said of Logan White, assistant general manager and scouting director.

Seager's hometown newspaper, The Salisbury Post, reported late Thursday night that the 18-year-old flew out to Los Angeles early that morning to take his physicals and that he was close to signing.

The infielder, whose older brother, Kyle, is an infielder for the Mariners, was selected with the 18th pick in the Draft earlier this month.
