Victorino sits out opener with sore left wrist

CINCINNATI -- Dodgers outfielder Shane Victorino was out of the lineup Friday night with a sore left wrist. Juan Rivera started in his place.

Victorino said he was injured hitting the wall while chasing Danny Espinosa's fourth-inning double in the corner Thursday night against the Nationals in Washington.

The veteran said it didn't bother him during the game but stiffened up by the time the team reached its hotel after midnight, and it was worse Friday when he awoke.

Victorino said no X-rays or other tests have been taken and he's optimistic he'll return in a day or two.

"We were going to hit today, but decided to give it a day and let it calm down," he said. "I don't think it's that bad."
