Hanley fouls ball off shin, limps off after single

CIN View Full Game Coverage CINNATI -- Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez said X-rays of his left shin were negative and he expects to play Tuesday night when the Dodgers open a three-game series in San Diego.

Ramirez left Sunday night's 5-3 win over the Reds in the seventh inning after fouling a pitch off his left shin. He initially remained in the game after a lengthy delay, attended to by assistant trainer Nancy Patterson and manager Don Mattingly.

Ramirez lined a single to left field off Reds starter Homer Bailey, but limped as he rounded first base. Mattingly then sent Dee Gordon in to run for Ramirez, who limped off the field.

"The day off [Monday] will help me," said Ramirez.

Gordon remained in the game at shortstop, committed one throwing error that led to an unearned run and was saved of another error on the game's final play with a catch-and-tag by first baseman Adrian Gonzalez.
