DENVER -- Dodgers starting pitcher Josh Beckett and shortstop Miguel Rojas left Sunday's game in the sixth inning with injuries.
Beckett doubled with one out in the fifth inning and said the stop and start of running from second to third base "tweaked" an already troublesome left hip. He said Stan Conte, the Dodgers' vice president of medical services, noticed Beckett was favoring his left side and changing his arm angle, so he was removed as a cautionary measure.
Rojas sustained a contusion on his right forearm and X-rays were negative. He is day to day after being hit by a 93-mph pitch from Brooks Brown with the bases loaded.
Rojas started at shortstop for Hanley Ramirez. Before the game, the Dodgers placed shortstop Erisbel Arruebarrena on the disabled list with a strained right hip flexor. He joined infielders Chone Figgins and Justin Turner on the disabled list.
