Bruised right shin to keep Seager out until Friday

March 1st, 2017

PHOENIX -- Dodgers shortstop said he expects to return to the lineup Friday after being slowed by a bruised right shin.
Manager Dave Roberts said X-rays on Seager's shin were negative and the swelling had subsided by Wednesday.
Seager, whose last Cactus League appearance was on Monday, said he fouled a pitch just above the protective shinguard he wears to prevent such occurrences.
Seager missed nearly two weeks last spring with a sprained knee, which didn't stop him from winning the National League Rookie of the Year Award in a unanimous vote and finishing third for the NL Most Valuable Player Award.
Seager received treatment and did not work out with the club on the field, but he was able to take batting practice in the cage.
