LOS ANGELES -- The D-backs won their 13th game in a row on Wednesday night, setting a new franchise record with a 3-1 victory over the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.
"We're very proud of that," D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said of the winning streak. "We have hit our stride at the right time, and we are doing things at a very impressive level. It's been contagious, and you can see the energy in the dugout, you can feel it."
The D-backs notched their first three-game series sweep at Dodger Stadium since May 6-8, 2013. The Dodgers have lost six straight, and 11 of their last 12. Los Angeles' lead in the National League West is 10 1/2 games, while Arizona increased its lead atop the NL Wild Card standings to 7 1/2.

Cody Bellinger's RBI fielder's choice in the first gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead, ending the D-backs' streak of 97 consecutive innings without trailing. Arizona answered back with Taijuan Walker's RBI double in the second, then took a 3-1 lead with a two-run seventh, ignited by Adam Rosales' pinch-hit RBI double.

Walker (9-7) won for the third straight start, allowing one run on four hits over six innings and striking out four.
"It definitely was a battle," Walker said. "I didn't have my best stuff out there. My command was a little shaky. I walked three guys, and didn't want to do that. I made them put the ball in play, and our defense did a really good job behind me."

Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda threw five innings of one-run ball, tying his season high with eight strikeouts, a much better outing than his start against the D-backs last Thursday, when he allowed seven runs in three innings.

The Dodgers scored just two runs in the series, and have lost back-to-back series to the D-backs for the first time since Sept. 2005.

"You look at the last 10 days of offense, it's not from lack of purpose," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "It's been there all year long. No one likes to make outs. For me to get upset at a result makes no sense. Hitting is very difficult. I think the last couple of years, there's been stretches like this on the offensive side, we've gone through this, but we still found out a way to scratch out some wins."
Despite their recent skid, the Dodgers can clinch a playoff berth on Thursday with a win over the Rockies and a Cubs loss to the Pirates.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Breaking the tie: The Dodgers and D-backs struggled to muster much offense through six innings. Rosales pinch-hit for Walker with no outs in the seventh, delivering a double to the center-field wall, where Joc Pederson tried to track down the ball. Pederson's relay throw to Chris Taylor was on target, but Ketel Marte scored from first, as the throw to the plate was late and the D-backs took a 2-1 lead.
"It was a tough at-bat for me," Rosales said. "He's got a really good changeup, and that's what he was coming at me with. I tried to shorten up my swing a little bit and see the ball up. To be a part of what we're doing right now is really something special, and it definitely boosts my confidence and I'm sure everybody else's as well."

Ouch, that hurt: The D-backs didn't stop scoring after Rosales' double. After David Peralta singled and J.D. Martinez was walked, Daniel Descalso came up with the bases loaded. However, Descalso didn't have have to swing his bat to produce a run. Luis Avilan ran a fastball inside, clipping Descalso to bring in a run and give the D-backs a 3-1 lead.
"In that situation," Roberts said, "he gives up some base hits, and you've got one of the best hitters against left-handed pitches [in Martinez] with a base open, I think it's a no-brainer. And [Avilan's] got to get Descalso out. It didn't happen, and he just wasn't sharp tonight."

TURNER GETS EJECTED
After arguing strikes with home-plate umpire Chad Fairchild, Justin Turner was ejected at the end of the sixth. Turner struck out looking to open the inning, then voiced his displeasure after the frame was over.
"I think that's a sign of frustration," Roberts said. "He's a competitor. Disagreed with the call and voiced his opinion, and Chad did the right thing. I think a little bit of that is frustration."

WHAT'S NEXT
D-backs: The D-backs are off Thursday before opening a three-game series with the Padres on Friday night at Chase Field at 6:40 p.m. MST. Patrick Corbin, who has won each of his last five starts, will get the ball for Arizona.
Dodgers: The Dodgers continue their homestand as they welcome the Rockies for a four-game series that begins Thursday at 7:10 p.m. PT. Clayton Kershaw will pitch at Dodger Stadium for the first time since July 23, when he injured his back and went on the disabled list.
