Clayton Kershaw was in dominant form Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles, carrying the Dodgers to a 1-0 win over the Padres. The left-hander tossed a three-hit shutout with no walks and 14 strikeouts while also driving home the game's only run with a third-inning single.
Kershaw became the first pitcher to have an RBI while throwing a 1-0 shutout since Mat Latos did it for San Diego at San Francisco on May 13, 2010.
Here are some other facts and figures to know from the three-time National League Cy Young Award winner's latest masterpiece:
• How in control was Kershaw? Not only did he throw 75 of his 101 pitches for strikes, but he induced more missed swings (27) than balls (26).

• Kershaw now has 34 strikeouts and one walk over his last three starts and 54 strikeouts and three free passes for the season. While it's still very early, that 18-to-1 ratio would smash the current single-season record of 11.6, set by Minnesota's Phil Hughes in 2014.
• This was the 15th time Kershaw struck out 10 or more batters while walking none. Felix Hernandez and Max Scherzer are the closest active pitchers, with 10 apiece. Only four pitchers are ahead of Kershaw on the all-time list: Randy Johnson (36), Curt Schilling (27), Roger Clemens (21) and Pedro Martinez (18).

• This also was Kershaw's 13th shutout. Since 2010, when he recorded his first, no other pitcher has more than nine.
• Kershaw has put together 30 starts with a Game Score of 80 or better since 2011, 10 more than the closest pitcher (Hernandez) over that span.
• In each of his six starts in 2016, Kershaw has gone at least seven innings, struck out at least five batters and walked no more than one. He is the first pitcher to open a season with a streak that long, and he is the first to put together such a run at any point since Roy Halladay in '11. Before Halladay, the last to do it was Johan Santana in '06.

• Kershaw joins Schilling (1998) and Martinez ('99) as the only pitchers to have four starts of nine-plus strikeouts and no more than one walk within their team's first 25 games of a season.
• Sunday was Kershaw's 30th start since last May 26. Over that span, he has pitched 220 1/3 innings with a 1.51 ERA and 9.7 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
