NEW YORK -- The Greatest Show on Earth continued its record run at Citi Field on Saturday, as five Dodgers homered in a 7-4 comeback win over the Mets, who mashed four home runs of their own.
The Dodgers have won 12 of their last 13, 23 of 26 and 43 of 50, the best 50-game MLB stretch since the 1912 New York Giants. They have a 14 1/2-game lead over Colorado in the National League West. They are 46 games above .500 for the first time since 1962. The Dodgers are 6-0 against the Mets this year and 8-0 dating to last year. Saturday's win also marked Los Angeles' 32nd come-from-behind victory of the season.
"It is history in the making," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "But when you get back to the day to day, I don't think anyone's aware of that. As we talked about a few weeks ago, this is who we are. We play the right way and we are finding ways to win games. They slugged early, we slugged late."

Yasiel Puig rocketed a tie-breaking laser shot in the seventh inning, Justin Turner added an insurance solo shot in the eighth and Corey Seager blasted a two-run upper-decker in the ninth. Earlier, teammates Chris Taylor and Cody Bellinger homered to counter a trio of first-inning solo shots by Mets Michael Conforto, Wilmer Flores and Curtis Granderson off July's NL Pitcher of the Month, Rich Hill, each on a mislocated fastball.

Those homers staked Mets starter Seth Lugo to a 3-0 lead. Lugo had a no-hitter for 4 2/3 innings, but the Dodgers tied the game in the sixth inning on a leadoff homer from Taylor (estimated by Statcast™ at 434 feet) and a two-run shot by Bellinger, the rookie's 31st. Opposing batters are now hitting .250 off Lugo their first two times through the order, and .362 after that.

"They don't have any easy outs," Lugo said. "Every one of them, you've got to bear down and make pitches. And if you don't, you see what happens when you make mistakes."

The Dodgers are on pace to break the franchise record of 211 home runs in a season (2000). They have 161 through 110 games, including 23 against New York in six games.
"There's certainly an intent," Roberts said of the launch-angle offense. "Look at the guys in our lineup, they all have the ability to drive balls out of the park. We do a very good job of taking balls and swinging at strikes and we've talked about that the last two years. Also, we do a pretty good job of scaring guys out of the zone. And when we get a ball we can handle in the zone, there's certainly damage to be had."

Reliever Brandon Morrow (4-0) was credited with the win and Paul Sewald (0-4) allowed Puig's homer for the loss. Mets catcher Rene Rivera hit a solo homer with one out in the ninth to bring New York within three, but Thomas Stripling retired Jose Reyes and Travis d'Arnaud to end the game.

"That's too good a team," Mets manager Terry Collins said. "That's why you've got to hold them down. … It's tough to catch up."
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Curt Catch: The defensive play of the game for the Mets was right fielder Curtis Granderson's diving catch of John Forsythe's sinking line drive with one out in the second inning. According to Statcast™, it was a four-star catch, as Granderson covered 41 feet in an opportunity time of 3.4 seconds.
"Curtis Granderson has been nothing but a professional since the day we signed him," Collins said. "Today was another example of what he can do."

Proven formula: It was another rinse-and-repeat pitching performance for the Dodgers. A five-inning start from Hill to keep them close, then four innings of solid relief. Brandon Morrow pitched around a leadoff walk and stolen base in the sixth, stranding Granderson on third. Pedro Baez was perfect in the seventh, Tony Watson inherited a walked runner from Baez but struck out two in a scoreless eighth and Stripling allowed a homer to Rivera with one out in the ninth. Dodgers pitchers had 13 strikeouts.
"Turning it over to the best bullpen in baseball is really comforting to everyone," said Hill.

When the Mets double-switched Lugo out of the game in the sixth inning, they also shifted second baseman Neil Walker to first. It marked Walker's first appearance at the position in his nine-year big league career, and his first time there in a professional game since he was a Pirates Minor Leaguer in 2010. Reyes also logged time at second base for the third time this week, after going nearly 13 full years between appearances at the keystone.
UPON FURTHER REVIEW
With Rivera on first base and no outs in the second inning, Lugo laid down a bunt, which Bellinger fielded and fired to second base. The ball popped out of shortstop Seager's glove, and Rivera, thinking the ball was going to end up in center field, rounded second base before scampering back as Seager tagged him. Collins successfully challenged umpire James Hoye's out call, but the Mets could not score despite the two-on, no-outs rally the play created.

With one out in the eighth inning, Bellinger tried to advance from first to second on a pitch in the dirt and was called out at second by Hoye. The Dodgers challenged and the call was overturned.

Dodgers:Hyun-Jin Ryu starts the Sunday night series finale, with a 5:05 p.m. PT first pitch at Citi Field. He is coming off seven scoreless innings against the Giants in a no-decision last Sunday at Dodger Stadium.
Mets: The Mets will try to win their first game in seven tries against the Dodgers this season in Sunday's series finale at Citi Field. Left-hander Steven Matz, who owns an 11.78 ERA over his last five starts, will oppose Ryu in the 8:05 p.m. ET game.
