PHOENIX -- Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson cleared the swimming pool at Chase Field with a two-run home run Saturday night projected at 463 feet by Statcast™.
Pederson's homer, in the fourth inning off Arizona starter Shelby Miller, was the farthest hit by a Dodger this year, and had a Statcast™ exit velocity of 109.9 mph. Seven of Pederson's 23 homers this year are against Arizona, this one the key hit in a 6-2 Dodgers win.
"I got behind two strikes early and a guy on third with less than two outs and I was just doing whatever I can to get him in," Pederson said. "It worked out well."
Pederson's previous longest home run this season came on May 3 against the Rays (440 feet).

The previous longest home run for a Dodger this year was hit by Justin Turner (458 feet on June 14).

Pederson's home run gave the Dodgers a 4-1 lead and he singled in his next at-bat.
"Joc had gotten away from his aggressiveness a little, but tonight he had the right approach, using the big part of the field," said manager Dave Roberts.
Pederson said he will continue wearing a batting helmet with a face guard when he faces left-handed pitching.
"I do it to stay on the ball a little longer," he said. "Got to do something against them. What I've been doing hasn't worked. I have to hit the ball the other way or change something to feel more comfortable up there against them."
Pederson is batting .093 against left-handed pitching, but .271 against right-handed pitching.
