Dodgers Place Paul Maholm on the 15-Day DL, Recall Paco Rodriguez

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today placed left-handed pitcher Paul Maholm on the 15-day disabled list (right ACL tear) and recalled left-handed reliever Paco Rodriguez from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Rodriguez opened the second half with the Dodgers, making two scoreless appearances in St. Louis (1.1 IP), before being optioned to Triple-A on July 22. The 23-year-old, who needed just 12 pitches to complete a scoreless inning of relief last night at Sacramento, has gone 2-3 with one save and a 4.40 ERA in 32 games with the Isotopes this year and has allowed five runs in 8.1 innings (5.40 ERA) in 12 appearances in four previous stints with Los Angeles this season. Rodriguez has a 3-5 record with two saves and a 2.60 ERA in 99 career big league games in three MLB seasons after being selected by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Florida.

Maholm went 1-5 with a 4.84 ERA in 30 games (eight starts) with the Dodgers this year.
