LOS ANGELES -- , who returned from the disabled list with strikeouts in his first four at-bats, doubled home with two outs in the bottom of the 13th inning Tuesday night as the Dodgers walked off with a 2-1 win over the Cardinals, after a classic pitchers' duel between and .
"Once it happens, after that fourth one, I was like, 'OK, well something needs to change,'" said Forsythe. "But that was even the case after the first one. I was like, 'All right, make an adjustment.' Sometimes it takes a little bit or a couple more at bats to find it. Luckily, I was able to get the barrel and make a play."
Hernandez was walked with two outs by former Dodgers closer . Forsythe lined a 1-1 pitch into the right-field corner and it kicked past right fielder as Hernandez scored from first.

"If there's a guy with the game on the line, I still trust him," manager Dave Roberts said of Forsythe, who missed 30 games with a broken toe and tight hamstring. "It takes a lot of mental strength to strike out four times, take a walk, and then come up with the game on the line and get a hit. Kiké's at-bat shouldn't go unnoticed. He's played good baseball for us."
The Dodgers improved to 17-7 at home, second-best record in the National League, despite striking out a season-high 19 times, the second-most in franchise history. The Dodgers have won five of their last six and St. Louis has lost five of its last six.

"I saw it pretty well, a ball in the dirt. I knew I was going to get third," Grichuk said. "I saw that [Grandal] did a little twist and kind of threw up his arms like he didn't see it. I knew at that point that it would be tough for him to slide and catch it and make a good throw if I continued to run hard."

Lynn, in his ninth start since Tommy John surgery, threw 123 pitches in eight innings, striking out 10 with two walks. He struck out the Dodgers' first two batters before Grandal went deep to center field on a 3-2 pitch, his fifth home run of the year. Statcast™ projected the shot at 418 feet with an exit velocity of 105.1 mph. singled in the eighth for the other Dodgers hit.

"This one was pretty special," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said of the night's stellar pitching. "Once again, you knew when we headed into this, I figured it was going to be a well-pitched game on both sides. I thought our bullpen came in and did a great job, too. It was just going to be who got that big hit, and it was them."
