LOS ANGELES -- Dave Roberts has a problem on his hands.
Amid dealing with injuries in the infield and outfield, Chris Taylor has been a pleasant surprise for the Dodgers, playing well wherever Roberts put him. Taylor has started 20 games at his natural position of second base, six at third, one at shortstop and he's played the last 11 games in center field.
And since being called up on April 19, he's slashing .318/.413/.956 with seven home runs and 24 RBIs, but with center fielder Joc Pederson soon to return from a concussion, Roberts will have to figure out how to find at-bats for Taylor.

"With Chris Taylor, the way he's played, he's earned the opportunity to get more chances out there," Roberts said. "Whether it's in center field, whether it's in right field, to spell [Justin Turner at third base] or [John Forsythe at second base], he'll do that."
Pederson, who did not travel with the team during its seven-game road trip, went through a full workout on Monday and said it went well.
"Everything feels pretty good today," Pederson said. "I think I just have to progress baseball-wise and get back on the field."
The Dodgers plan for Pederson to complete a rehab assignment this Friday, after he passes concussion protocol tests sometime this week. How long he spends in the Minors depends on how he responds to the workload.
Another factor for Roberts is Pederson improving at the plate. Before Pederson went to the seven-day concussion disabled list following a collision with Yasiel Puig in the outfield on May 23, he had struggled while posting a .200 batting average.
"When Joc comes back, we're going to have the confidence that he is swinging the bat the way he should be to warrant coming back and helping our club," Roberts said.

Turner begins rehab stint
Turner will make his first rehab start Monday night at Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga. Turner went on the DL May 19 with a strained right hamstring.
Roberts said Turner will play five innings on Monday and will play in another game on Wednesday.
"The plan is to get him back some time this weekend," Roberts said. "It could be Friday, it could be a day or two later."
