LOS ANGELES -- Despite previously being expected to be activated from the 15-day disabled list on Monday, Yasiel Puig will rejoin the Dodgers Tuesday with the corresponding move still unknown.
Puig, recovering from a left hamstring injury, had been on a rehab assignment with Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga during which he had gone 5-for-12 with a homer and three walks. He was off Sunday, which manager Dave Roberts had described as a "travel day."
"He'll be back [Tuesday]," Roberts said. "We had him scheduled for today, but I think it's just to give him an extra day.... To give him an extra day and also get Trayce [Thompson] and Howie [Kendrick] back in there, with that continuity, I felt that was the right thing to do."
Roberts also said that the team had not decided on a corresponding move for Puig's return. The team is carrying a nine-man bullpen if the recently called up Carlos Frias is counted. The corresponding move for Puig is not the only thing up in the air for the Dodgers, as it is also unclear what the rotation will look like following Thursday's off-day.
Roberts identified Frias as an option to fill a rotation spot for the recently optioned Mike Bolsinger, while Frankie Montas  mentioned days ago as a possibility to be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City, was recently placed on the Minor League DL with an irritation related to his rib surgery, according to reports. 
Further blurring the picture is that Roberts said the team had reevaluated its decision to find a way to throttle back Julio Urias' innings after the teenager's start Wednesday, saying there was nothing definitive. The southpaw impressed in his last start, striking out eight in five scoreless innings against the Brewers.
Urias is on an innings limit, but the exact number is unknown. He threw 80 1/3 innings total in 2015 and 87 2/3 in '14 and has so far thrown 63 innings this season between Los Angeles and Oklahoma City.
"Number one is his future. We've really treaded lightly with him and tried to be prudent with his development," Roberts said. "He is pitching well and continues to show improvement, but his usage is definitely at the forefront of our minds."
