LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers reliever underwent Tommy John on his right elbow on Oct. 25, the club confirmed Thursday. Officials offered no explanation for why the operation wasn't disclosed earlier.
The right-handed Garcia, 26, pitched in 59 games in 2015 and had one scoreless postseason appearance that year, but was limited to nine relief appearances with the Dodgers in 2016 because of arm ailments.
Garcia remains on the 40-man roster, although he likely won't pitch in 2017.
Garcia joins (wrist), (elbow) and (elbow) on the list of Dodgers known to be recovering from operations.
