PHOENIX -- The Dodgers' Joc Pederson led off the game with a home run but it was all Brewers from there in Milwaukee's split-squad, 7-2 win Wednesday at Maryvale Baseball Park.
Capitalizing on command issues for Dodgers starter Rich Hill, the Brewers took a 3-1 lead in the second inning and kept adding insurance in the second spring meeting of the teams. First baseman Jesus Aguilar had two hits, including a two-run home run, and outfield prospectRyan Cordell also drove in a pair.
The Brewers have won five straight games, including each of their split-squad contests Wednesday against the Dodgers and White Sox.
Hill was sharp against the Brewers when he pitched here Feb. 26, but he walked four of the 10 hitters he faced in the rematch, and was charged with three earned runs on one hit in 1 2/3 innings. Two of those runs scored after Hill left the game and Cordell greeted reliever Layne Somsen with a two-run single.
Pederson's long leadoff home run to right field represented the only damage against Brewers starter Junior Guerra, who was charged with one run on two hits in three innings, with one walk and two strikeouts. Milwaukee relievers Neftali Feliz, Jacob Barnes, Jhan Marinez, Andy Oliver and Brandon Woodruff each followed with an inning of hitless relief, with Nick Ramirez (two-thirds of an inning) and Tim Dillard (one-third) finishing out the game.
"I've been working on my swing, my path to the ball, and it's encouraging to see it pay off in the game," said Pederson, who leads the club with three home runs. 
"His approach is really consistent, he's not trying to pull the ball too much," manager Dave Roberts said of Pederson. "When he's going hard up the middle, like the line drive to the shortstop [in the third inning], we know he's in a good place."
Woodruff, Milwaukee's No. 8 prospect and reigning Minor League PItcher of the Year, worked around a pair of walks in a scoreless eighth.
"There's a lot of good, young arms here that are ready to compete," said Feliz, who signed a one-year deal after pitching in Pittsburgh last season.
Feliz declared himself ready to compete as well. He was shut down last September with arm fatigue, but said he's healthy now.
"One-hundred percent," he said.
Dodgers Up Next: After taking a day off on Thursday, the Dodgers play a Friday night game at Camelback Ranch-Glendale, with Brandon McCarthy starting against Texas on MLB.TV. McCarthy is on the rebound from two years of injuries and a case of the yips, but has not had command problems this spring. Julio Urias, who has been starting, will pitch in relief.
