SEATTLE -- Closer Kenley Jansen had another aggressive throwing session on Friday with no issues from the irregular heartbeat that put him on the disabled list. He said he's hopeful to be cleared to resume pitching during a Monday follow-up exam, and manager Dave Roberts said as soon as Jansen is cleared, he will resume closing games.
"I hope they say, 'Great. You're ready to go,'" said Jansen. "That's what my fingers are crossed [for] Monday so I can get back in the race and help us go where we went to go. Monday is the big day."
Jansen is still on blood thinners and has not been cleared to participate in activity that could result in a cut or injury where bleeding could be an issue.
With Jansen out and the Dodgers' bullpen reeling from a week of late-inning disasters, Roberts said he was leaning toward making Kenta Maeda the "chairman of the bullpen by committee."
That committee was shuffled again on Friday when Daniel Hudson was activated from the 10-day disabled list and Erik Goeddel was placed on the 10-day disabled list.
"Erik felt something in the back of the elbow and said it was unstable and he was unsure if he could pitch this weekend," said Roberts.
Hudson, who has had two Tommy John operations, had right forearm tightness. Goeddel, who has had Tommy John and bone spur elbow surgeries, has right elbow inflammation. It is Goeddel's second stint on the disabled list this month having missed 10 days with right lat inflammation.
Puig appeals suspension, fine
Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig appealed a two-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for fighting and inciting a benches-clearing incident Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium.

Puig's suspension was to begin Friday in Seattle, but he will be allowed to play until the appeal process is completed. He was not in the starting lineup for Friday night's series opener against the Mariners.
Roberts said he was hopeful the suspension would be reduced to one game.
In the seventh inning of the Dodgers' 2-1 loss to San Francisco, Puig expressed frustration after fouling off a Tony Watson pitch, and he and Giants catcher Nick Hundley proceeded to exchange heated words. The situation escalated quickly as Puig pushed Hundley, who shoved him back, prompting members of both teams to spill out of the dugouts and sprint toward home plate.
Both players were ejected from the game.

• Roberts said Josh Fields (right shoulder inflammation) and Yimi Garcia (right elbow inflammation) had their rehab assignments upgraded from the Arizona Rookie League to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
