CHICAGO -- Kenta Maeda will start the day game and Rich Hill the nightcap in Tuesday's split doubleheader, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after Monday night's series opener with the Cubs was postponed.
After a nearly three-hour delay, the cause of the postponement was announced as inclement weather and a failure of some right-field lights at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs delayed the game at the start, despite dry conditions, because of forecasts for heavy rains, which lasted about 15 minutes. Long after the game was called, it still wasn't raining, but the lights weren't working.
Game times for Tuesday are 10:05 a.m. PT and 5:05 p.m. The Cubs will also stick with their scheduled starters, Tyler Chatwood in the day game and Mike Montgomery in the night game.

That is, if the games are played. Roberts said he was told the Cubs are confident the lights will be fixed by Tuesday.
Roberts also said he was told that a second failure of the lights was the final straw that prompted the postponement on a day that began fruitfully for the Dodgers with Clayton Kershaw's impressive three-inning simulated game.
Roberts said Maeda had begun stretching but never began throwing off the bullpen mound.
Roberts said the Dodgers will have a 26th man for the nightcap and it would be a pitcher called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
