PHOENIX -- Add outfielder Yasiel Puig and relief pitcher Yimi Garcia to the staggering list of injured Dodgers.
Puig was scratched from Saturday's day game against the Mariners with a tight left hamstring and is listed day to day. Garcia hasn't pitched since Monday because of a sore left knee.
Manager Dave Roberts said Puig wanted to play, but the manager made the decision as a precaution "for the sake of being ready for Opening Day. I'm going to err on the side of caution."

Roberts also said the injury came up Saturday, even though Puig left Friday night's game after legging out a double in the gap in the bottom of the second inning and was accompanied to the clubhouse by a trainer.
The postgame explanation was that Puig was removed because he would double back for the day game. Roberts said Puig woke up Saturday with the tightness.
Puig was on the disabled list last year from April 26 to June 6 with a strained left hamstring and again from Aug. 28 until Oct. 3 with a strained right hamstring. The injuries contributed to management's request that Puig lose weight in the offseason, which he did.
Garcia threw a bullpen session on Saturday and reported no further soreness in the knee. If he comes out of the workout healthy, Garcia could return to game action Tuesday or Wednesday, but would be a week behind other Dodgers relievers.
Even so, with tough roster decisions looming involving the bullpen, Garcia's injury might put him on the disabled list for the start of the season.
On the bright side for the Dodgers, Brandon Beachy's elbow tenderness cleared to allow him to throw off a mound for the first time since March 18. And Hyun-Jin Ryu threw his first bullpen session in four days as he continues a comeback from shoulder surgery.
