Graduated from Southlake High School (FL)...married to the former Ashlee Ray...avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.
2007
Split the season between three different clubs in two different organizations...combined to go 9- 9 with a 4.36 ERA (142.1 ip, 69 er) in 25 games/starts with the Texas Rangers, Triple-A Oklahoma and Triple-A Buffalo...started the season with the RedHawks and was recalled on two different occasions to the big league club, first on May 19 and again on May 30...started each of those games on the day he was recalled and went 0-2 with a 7.84 ERA (10.1 ip, 9 er) in starts at Houston and at Oakland...made 14 starts, eight of which were quality outings for Triple-A Oklahoma...went 4-2 with a 3.94 ERA (48.0 ip, 21 er) over his final eight starts to drop season figure from 5.05 to 4.41...was designated for assignment on July 1 and acquired on a waiver claim by the Cleveland Indians on July 9...was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo and made nine starts for the Bisons, going 3-3 with a 3.54 ERA (48.1 ip, 19 er)...tossed a complete-game shutout in his second-to-last-start of the season on Aug. 24 vs. Pawtucket, tossing 7.0 innings and allowing five hits and recording six strikeouts...was designated for assignment following the season.

Ranked third on the Rangers with 23 starts and 125 innings pitched...was 6-5 with a 4.63 ERA in 18 starts before the All-Star break and 1-2 with an 11.25 ERA in five starts after the break...was 4-4 with a 4.82 ERA at home and 3-3 with a 6.64 ERA on the road...was 4-0 with a 3.21 ERA in six starts between April 12 and May 8...was 3-6 with a 6.81 ERA in his last 16 starts...was optioned to the Minors on Aug. 7 and called up for just one more start...his seven victories were tied for 16th most by a Rangers rookie in club history and his 125 innings were the 10th most...tied for eighth with 23 starts.
1999
Split the season between the Reds Rookie League Gulf Coast squad and Billings (R), combining to go 5-6 with a 3.71 ERA in 14 starts ... picked up his first professional win while pitching for the Reds June 19 ... allowed 1 hit and struck out a season-high 8 batters over 5.0 scoreless innings ... struck out 61 batters in a combined 77.2 innings on the mound.
2000
Spent the entire season at Clinton (A), going 4-13 with a 4.33 ERA in 20 games (18 starts) ... tossed four complete games on the season but took the loss in each of those starts ... recorded a 1.67 ERA (5 ER/27.0 IP) in his complete games.
2001
Pitched for three different teams and combined to go 9-8 with a 4.56 ERA in 26 starts ... made five starts for Dayton (A), going 3-1 with a 0.75 ERA (2 ER/24.0 IP) ... struck out 25 batters in 24.0 innings ... made 12 starts for Mudville (A), striking out 66 batters over 71.0 innings ... struck out a season-high 10 batters May 30 at San Jose ... saw Double-A action for the first time in his career, making nine starts for Chattanooga (AA).
2002
Split the season between Stockton (A) and Chattanooga (AA), combining to go 13-8 with a 4.15 ERA in 28 games (27 starts) ... made 12 starts for Stockton, going 11-0 with a 3.07 ERA ... struck out 69 batters over 73.1 innings ... struck out a season-high 11 batters in 6.0 innings on the mound when Chattanooga hosted Huntsville on June 28.
2003
Spent the majority of the season at Chattanooga (AA) before being traded to the Cubs organization on August 26 ... combined to go 7-13 with a 4.20 ERA in 26 starts ... pitched at least 6.0 innings in 19 of his 26 starts - tossed a season high 8.1 innings May 18 at Tennessee ... made his only start for West Tenn August 30 vs. Mobile ... was not involved in the decision allowing just 3 hits over 7.0 scoreless innings.
2005
John made his major league debut on June 1 at Los Angeles (NL) - also picked up his first big league win in the contest, allowing 3 runs over 5.0 innings .... went 1-2 with a 7.47 ERA in two stints with the Cubs ... made three starts in his first stint with the club, going 1-2 with a 7.63 ERA ... appeared in 0.1 inning of relief in his second stint, retiring the only batter he faced ... spent the majority of the season at Iowa (AAA), where he went 9-11 with a 4.24 ERA in 23 games for Iowa (21 starts), striking out 96 batters and issuing just 12 homers and 48 walks in 136.0 innings of work ... pitched a season-high 8.0 innings twice ... allowed no runs on 5 hits with no walks and 7 strikeouts June 30 at Oklahoma and allowed 1 run on 5 hits with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts August 29 in Omaha ... had a three-game winning streak from June 23-July 5, allowing just 3 runs over the 21.0 innings span ... recorded the decision in 20 of his 21 starts - the no decision occurred August 5 vs. Tucson ... tied for ninth in the league with a 4.24 ERA ... following the season, appeared in 10 games in relief for the Arizona Fall League ... posted a 1-0 record with a 0.00 ERA (0 ER/13.0 IP) and 3 saves for the Mesa Solar Sox ... held batters to a .178 average while striking out 11 and walking five.

John reached the Triple-A level for the first time in his career, going 12-9 with a 4.34 ERA in 29 games (23 starts) in his first full season with the Cubs organization...his wins total tied for second in the Pacific Coast League...went 3-3 with a 1.95 ERA during the month of May...allowing 8 earned runs over 37.0 innings on the mound while walking 14 and striking out 20 batters...made one postseason appearance for the I-Cubs, earning the win September 11 at Oklahoma...allowed 2 runs over 6.1 innings in Iowa's 5-2 victory...tossed a complete-game shutout August 5 vs. Edmonton...allowed just 4 hits while striking out 7 batters...struck out a season-high 10 batters over 6.0 innings July 30 vs. Tucson.
