SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- A pair of three-run outbursts by the Dodgers, including Joc Pederson's fifth-inning homer, helped them overcome Jarrett Parker's four RBIs for San Francisco in Los Angeles' 7-6 Cactus League triumph Wednesday.
The Giants erased a 3-0 deficit with two runs in the second inning off Dodgers starter Scott Kazmir and three in the third. Parker contributed to both uprisings, doubling home a second-inning run and hitting a three-run homer in the third. Parker, widely considered the leading contender for the Giants' left-field vacancy, has a team-high two homers, owns a .444 batting average (4-for-9) and is tied for the club lead with six RBIs this spring.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy praised Parker for responding to the competition.
"That's what you're hoping to see," Bochy said. "... I think as much as anything, he's disciplined at the plate. He's laying off some pretty good pitches. That's an area where he had to improve and he's doing it."

Pederson put Los Angeles back in front with his three-run line-smash off George Kontos in the fifth inning. It was Pederson's first hit of the spring.
"He's been working on some things," manager Dave Roberts said. "His path to the baseball is really good and that was a 3-iron right there. He's focused on having a professional at-bat. The more he puts balls in play, good things will happen."
The Dodgers initially jumped ahead in the second inning with four consecutive two-out hits off Giants starter Player Page for Matt Cain, including Charlie Culberson's RBI single and Henry Ramos' two-run triple.

Dodgers Up Next:Clayton Kershaw makes his second start of the spring against the Indians at Camelback Ranch-Glendale on Thursday. Third baseman Justin Turner and second baseman John Forsythe are expected to return to the lineup after having two games off each.
Giants Up Next: San Francisco plays its first of two split-squad doubleheaders this spring on Thursday. The Giants will entertain the Chicago White Sox at Scottsdale, with Matt Moore going to the mound. They'll also send a contingent to Tempe for an encounter with the Los Angeles Angels. Right-handed prospect Tyler Beede will get the start in that game.
