Cleveland native and former big leaguer Matt Kata is in his fourth year as the manager of youth baseball development. He'll lead the instruction at the 2017 Indians Youth Baseball Summer Camps along with an experienced, professional staff.
Kata, who had his best season in 2003 with the Arizona Diamondbacks, says that his big league dreams started on the little league fields in Cleveland. He credits his development to the mentors and coaches he had growing up, and is excited to now have the opportunity to positively impact the players of tomorrow. Read an interview with Kata in which he talks about the importance of youth instruction.
Kata leads a trained and knowledgeable staff at each camp. They are as passionate and energetic as they are experienced. All staff members participate in Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) workshops and are CPR/First Aid trained and certified.
