Indians announce single-game ALDS tix refund policy

It wasn't difficult to get swept up in the hype of the postseason, to think past the American League Wild Card Game toward a showdown with Indians manager Terry Francona's old club, the Red Sox, in the Division Series.

A spot in that series was never guaranteed, but that doesn't mean it wasn't realistic, or right around the corner.

Unfortunately for the Indians and their fans, Tampa Bay put an end to those hopes by beating the Tribe, 4-0, at Progressive Field on Wednesday. While the Rays celebrated in the visitor's clubhouse, the Indians reflected on their now-finished season in the home clubhouse. On Thursday, with the pain of that defeat still fresh, the Indians announced how fans who purchased single-game tickets for the ALDS can get their money back.

The organization will issue refunds only through the original payment method. If you purchased ALDS tickets online -- with a computer or a phone -- refunds will be transacted automatically.

For the following four scenarios, fans must have their tickets with them to receive refunds:
• Purchases made at Indians Teams Shops with a credit card can be refunded at the location of the original transaction. But if tickets were purchased with cash at an Indians Team Shop, refunds can only be issued at the Progressive Field ticket office.
• All purchases made at the Progressive Field ticket office must also be returned to that area for a refund.
• If you bought tickets at a Ticketmaster outlet, you must bring them back to where they were purchased to receive a refund.
• Season-ticket holders who bought tickets for the ALDS will receive an e-mail about postseason purchases.
