Indians Promote INF Lindor From Columbus; Place Swisher on 15-day D.L.

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Selected the contract of INF FRANCISCO LINDOR (#12) from the Triple-A Columbus Clippers.

Placed DH/OF NICK SWISHER on the 15-day Disabled List with left knee inflammation.

Lindor, 21, has spent the entire season in Triple-A Columbus where he has hit .281 (64-228) with 11 doubles, 5 triples, 2 home runs and 22 RBI in 58 games for the Clippers. He currently ranks T9th in the International League in hits and T4th in triples. Over his last 12 games in June he has batted .404 (19-47) with 2 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR and 3RBI to raise his season average from .249-.281 and for the season he is batting .325 (13-40) with RISP. The Clermont, FL resident was selected by Cleveland in the first round (8th overall pick) of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft and entered the season as the fourth-rated prospect in all of Major League Baseball (MLB.com).

Swisher underwent bilateral knee surgery last August and began his season on May 3. In 30 games in 2015 he has batted .198 (20-101) with 4 2B, 2HR and 8 RBI in 30 games.
