Indians promote OF Tyler Holt from Columbus

Place OF Michael Bourn on 15-day DL

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Selected the contract of OF TYLER HOLT (#62) from the AAA Columbus Clippers.

Placed OF MICHAEL BOURN (left hamstring strain) on the 15-day Disabled List.

Holt, 25, has split the 2014 season between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus, hitting .302 (42-139) with 38 runs scored, 9 doubles, 2 HR & 12 RBI with the Clippers. Over his last 9 games with Columbus since June 26 he has hit at a ..389 (14-36) clip with 12 runs, 2 2B, 1HR & 3RBI. Prior to his May 26 promotion to Columbus the Gainesville, FL native hit .298 (37-124) with AA Akron with 4 2B, 1 3B, 14RBI and 13 runs scored in 39 games. Combined between the two stops he hit .346 (27-78) off LHP, swiped 21 bases in 24 attempts (88%) and appeared at all three outfield positions (17 LF, 41 CF, 10 RF). Tyler was Cleveland's 10th round selection in the 2010 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Florida State University.

Bourn was injured running the bases last night in the 8th inning. This marks his fourth career stint on the Major League DL, previously missing the first 13 games of the 2014 season with a left hamstring strain. He is currently third on the team in runs scored (37) and is hitting .267 (76-285) with 9 2B, 7 3B, 3HR & 21 RBI in 66 games.
