The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the Major League roster:
Recalled RHP ADAM PLUTKO (#45) from AAA Columbus.
Optioned C/OF FRANCISCO MEJĺA to AAA Columbus.
Plutko, 27, has split the 2018 season between Columbus and Cleveland, posting a mark of 5-3 with a 1.83 ERA in nine Triple-A starts (59.0 IP, 30 H, 12 ER, 10 BB, 48 SO, .146 BA). He is currently sporting the lowest WHIP in the International League, owns the second-lowest ERA and is tied for fifth in wins. He tossed a nine-inning no-hitter on June 2 at Syracuse, fanning eight in the 112-pitch effort. With Cleveland this year, he has posted a mark of 3-0 with a 3.93 ERA in three starts (8 ER/18.1 IP), the last of which came on May 28 vs. the White Sox (5.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R/ER).
