Outfielder Scott Cousins claimed off waivers by Angels

Cousins was designated for assignment by Seattle on November 20

SEATTLE, Wash. -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced today that Scott Cousins has been claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Angels.

Cousins, 27, was designated for assignment on November 20 after being claimed off waivers from Toronto on Nov. 6. The outfielder split last season between AAA New Orleans and the Miami Marlins. With the Marlins he appeared in 53 games, batting .163 (14x86) with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 3 RBI. He played all three outfield positions for the Marlins (LF - 6 G/0 GS, CF - 18 G/8 GS, RF - 12 G/6 GS). With New Orleans he batted .296 (69x233) in 61 games. He also played with the Marlins in 2010 (27 G) and 2011 (48 G).
